Match Report: Malet Lambert 0-3 Hull United Women's Development Team.
Malet Lambert Ladies V Hull United Women's Development

The first league game of the season saw the ladies face Malet Lambert away from home in the League, hoping to carry on the good form from the back end of last season. The ladies were highly dominant in the opening 25 minutes with a few good chances coming down the right-hand side with Grace putting an effort just wide and forcing the Malet keeper into a good save.
Malet then grew into the game however the United defence of Skye, Kacey, Olivia and Gemma stood strong to limit Malet to any real chances. After working hard for 35 minutes up top Lacey made way for Katie. A while later United found themselves with possession on the left-hand side were Chelsea saw the keeper was off her line and chipped it over the line making it 1-0 United. The ladies continued to knock the ball around nicely with the midfield Sammie, Pinder and Chelsea working tirelessly to keep United ticking over. At half time the words from manager Mel was to keep playing the same and try to create more chances.
United started brightly in the 2nd half with Chelsea hitting the bar directly from a corner. A couple of minutes later Chelsea found herself on the ball on the right of the Malet box with a piece of fancy footwork she beat her player and whipped in a great ball for Katie to head home 2-0 united. Moments after that the United pressure continued with Pinder firing a free kick wide and an effort from Sammie going wide of the target too. The game opened up a bit with a few half chances from Malet but nothing to cause goalkeeper Meg any major problems. The game then became very scrappy with both sides committing a couple of fouls. Around the 65th minute marked Mel making a double change with Grace and Skye making way for Jamie-Leigh and CJ. A few sharp bits of play from United saw them play the ball around the Malet midfield however struggling to find a real end product Malet then caught United on the counter with the Malet forwards effort going wide of the target. 70 minutes had gone by when Mel decided another change was needed this time Katie making way for Lacey. United then kept the ball well zipping it around the park keeping majority of the possession. In the 80th minute United made another change with Gemma coming off which meant Ellie dropped into left back Jamie going onto the left wing and Phoebe coming into the number 10 role. United continued to dominate possession and then with 5 minutes to go Jamie Leigh found herself with a bit of space 30 yards out beating her player and seeing the keeper off her line and chipped the ball into the back off the net 3-0 United. With 2 minutes to go Malet played a ball in behind which nearly ended in a disaster due to a miscommunication between Kacey and Meg. Luckily the United keeper was quick on her toes to clear the ball off her own line and out for a Malet corner. The resulting corner was taken and United managed to clear it with the referee blew for full time. Hull united 3-0 Malet lambert.
Player of the match went to Olivia who worked tirelessly in defence on and off the ball to limit the Malet forwards from any clear cut opportunity’s.
Next weekend the ladies face South Cave in there first home game of the season at Haworth park.
