The visitors almost went ahead inside the first minute as they saw a header cleared off the line. In the second minute, the Citizens put themselves in front. This led to one of their defenders inadvertently putting a header past their own goalkeeper Jake Jory and into the net.
In the 26th minute, the Citizens passed up a very good chance to double their lead. It came through an Owen Clater header which was put wide having been picked out in the Hedon box by a terrific Charlie Outram cross.
At the beginning of the second half, Hedon got themselves back on level terms. Ryan Whincup slotted the ball past Milner after being played through by Ollie Smith. In the 50th minute, Whincup threatened again as he had a shot palmed away by Milner.
The Citizens restored their lead in spectacular style in the 79th minute. Attila Filep produced a sensational strike that flew into the Hedon net to secure his first goal of the season. Five minutes later, Whincup nearly got the visitors back on level terms with an effort which was fired wide.
In the final moments of the game, the Citizens extended their lead. Filep turned provider as he set up Jean Claude Kalilwa who provided a cool finish to bag his second goal of the campaign. It was a victory which sees the Citizens occupy tenth place in the league table.
