Season So Far and Upcoming Visit of South Shields
Season So Far and Upcoming Visit of South Shields
“It’s been a tough one for us to put it honestly, and at times hard to stomach with some of the injuries and absentees we have had since we got the season underway. To miss players like Courtney, Tonya, Millie O’Neil, Suey, Jess and Wardy to name a few Ha! Has really pushed us to our limits at times. We have found ourselves going to games with 12 players where last season we had 16 to pick from most weeks but that’s football and we had to step up. Our targets for the season and have somewhat changed and we go into the second half of the season wanting to kick on. The girls have trained so hard over the last five weeks putting in extra sessions to really get them ready to start again. To be honest that’s probably the most pleasing thing as the season has gone on, I have seen the girls togetherness and resilience really step up and bond. They have noticed areas as a team or individually that needed sorting and have worked hard over this break to get that addressed. We start this weekend with an air of optimism, I know last time we played south shields we really pushed them and maybe should have got something out of the game but we didn’t. We know they will be looking to do the double over us on Sunday and it will be a tough game for us but I am sure we will deliver a top performance come Sunday.”
Its 2pm kick off at Steve Prescott Centre, all spectators are welcome.
