Men's Development - Mid-Season Review

The season so far…

Well it certainly has been a season of transition. Players and mangers leaving during the off season saw the Development Team begin pre-season with a new squad and a new management team. The objective was to get young players on the field, playing the right kind of football: passing, building from the back and bravery in possession. The tricky thing the young management team would have to deal with was instilling commitment and, well, grit!

A few hard defeats on the way did not force the manager (Big John H) to abandon his methods. Points began to come and, eventually, their first win! Are their methods starting to pay off? Are their team talks starting to ring true? Or, are the players just starting to ‘get it’? Whatever it is, Hull United Development have turned a corner. The rest of the season and next should help establish this young team and allow a few to move up to the 1st team.

The Men’s Development take on St Marys in the HE Dean Cup At Hull Uni on Saturday.
