Hull United AFC – Hull's only community owned football club

Redcar Town Ladies V Women's First Team.

Hull United travelled up north to play Redcar Town ladies, looking to bounce back from a 2 all draw last week at home to Blyth, Lewis had a small selection of players to choose from resulting in United having only 1 player named on the bench. United got the game going and we’re eager to put things right from last week, however a laps in concentration meant that Redcar scored the opening goal of the game, shortly after they added a second. United fought back but couldn’t find a way through. Redcar however managed to breakdown United once again and added a 3rd to the game. Half time 3-0 to the hosts.

The second half came, and manager Lewis Poucher had a few harsh words to say to the ladies at half time in order for them to get themselves into gear. Untied started the half well and we’re creating chances here and there unfortunately they couldn’t find the back of the net which resulted in Redcar scoring again. Full time Redcar 4 0 United.

United Manager Lewis added “disappointed to say the least with the performance, we didn’t do the basics good enough. Yes we didn’t have our best squad etc but how we applied ourselves wasn’t good enough. Credit to Redcar who was ruthless in the first half and executed there plan down to a tee. We go again at training this week and aim to put it right this weekend, with four players coming back into the squad we will be ready for Grimsby ”

Player of the match went to Lauren Holmes who is proudly sponsored by RBT LTD.

The ladies are in FA Cup Action this weekend at home to Grimsby Town Ladies.
