Men's Development V AFC Skirlaugh

Hull United Development Vs Skirlaugh FC

Spirited effort ends in ‘hard to take’ defeat.

For once Hull started slowly and Skirlaugh’s number 9 – suspiciously (5 yards) offside – slipped past the onrushing keeper.

Hull came back stronger and after last week’s humbling defeat went about their business with the right attitude. Playing the better football, CM Dec carried the ball well and beat the keep from a tight angle. Another goal from striker Kissiler made it 2-1 to the development team. United were dominant in the game.

Second half and Hull were caught napping on a corner. 2-2.

But, once again, Kissiler put the development team 3-2 with a well worked goal.

The, yep you guessed it, sloppy marking from a corner made it 3-3…Hull clearly need to work on the set piece defending!

The game took a turn when Dec had to go off and, due to other injuries, Hull were down to 10 men. This saw Skirlaugh run into the lead.

The 6-3 really flattered the away team and it was easy to see the development had finally started to work for one another. Green shoots of improvement seen. RB Daoud picked up the MotM. He was tenacious and got the ball down to play. Hull on the rise…let’s hope so.
