Defeat at home for Hull United Development team but spirited second half display.
After a good start by United, Owen going close and clipping the inside of the post, some poor tackling showed Sutton’s winger to cut in and score past a slightly obstructed United keeper. Hull were chasing shadows in the middle of the park and soon Sutton were 3 goals to the good. One a looping header and another a curled effort.
After the break United came out with more ferocity and started to apply pressure. However, this was all undone with Sutton’s 4th. With the ref not in a great position, Hull’s CB was pushed from behind as he cleared the ball after a ricochet or two the ball found its way into the back of the net.
The game had gone but still United pushed on to try and get something from the game. Subs played their part. Owen, 2 in 2 weeks, scored another long range effort.
Not good enough from United and clearly areas to work on.
We go again next week at home to Bridlington Rover Millau.
